Landlord tip
. Online tenant checking is a vital part of tenant selection. It allows you to obtain information which is quite separate from the information offered via the Tenancy Application. Obviously a TINZ check allows you the ability to search 6 relevant databases simultaneously. Also you may find information by checking your prospective tenant on Facebook, or simply Googling their name might surprise you from time to time. Add the town they are in or from to your search. Facebook doesn't have much in the way of advanced search, but you can search for two things at once by using the | character (you can make this character by pressing "shift backslash"). eg you might search Facebook for "Joe Smith | Auckland". Sometimes email address is a good search if you have collected that on your application.
Landlord tip of the month. If you would like to share a Landlord tip we would love to hear from you at newsletter@tinz.net.nz . We are looking for short sharp 1 or 2 paragraph tips which will help us all. If we use your tip in a newsletter there will be a small gift in the mail in appreciation for your effort.
TINZ tip
When you have searched a prospective tenant, any TINZ reference you get will show the member who offered the reference. If you click on the members name, it is an email link through to the person who offered the reference. This means you are able to make contact with the previous landlord. Often you would like additional information. Now you can have it.
Just a note that TINZ will be on limited staff over the Christmas holiday's so the best way to contact us will be by email .. admin@tinz.net.nz
